Apprenticeship Exemption Testing

Fleming College is pleased to offer Apprenticeship Exemption Testing in most trades. A successful exemption test will allow the candidate to be exempt from the in-school portion of apprenticeship in a particular trade. Tests are available to registered apprentices and those who, while not registered, have trade experience.

NOTE: Successful tests are valid for two years from the date of the test for non-apprentices. The tests will be offered once a month. It is important to note that the tests do not exempt you from the required working hours for your trade. Tests must also be done in order (e.g. Basic, Intermediate, Advanced).

Exemption tests include (but are not limited to) the following trades and can be written on any of the dates listed below by appointment:

  • Automotive Painter
  • Auto Service Technician
  • Construction Craft Worker
  • Cook
  • Facilities Mechanic
  • Hairstylist
  • Heavy Equipment Technician
  • General Machinist
  • Plumber
  • Small Engine Mechanic
  • Industrial Electrician
  • Millwright

Fee: $150.00, must be paid at least one week before the test date.
