Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design was founded in 1925 and is one of British Columbia’s oldest post-secondary institutions and one of the world's leading arts institutions.

The purpose of this agreement is to provide graduates of the Fleming College Ontario College Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts, at the Haliburton School of the Arts, the opportunity to transfer into a Bachelor's degree at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

  

BACHELOR OF FINE ART (VISUAL ART AND GENERAL FINE ART MAJORS)

Graduates of the Ontario College Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts at Fleming College with a specialization in one of the following programs will be considered for admission to the third year of the BFA in Visual Art or General Fine Art at Emily Carr University:

 

  • Artist Blacksmith
  • Ceramics
  • Drawing and Painting
  • Fibre Arts
  • Glass Blowing
  • Jewellery Essentials
  • Photo Arts
  • Sculpture or Generalist option

 

 

Graduates who have completed the Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts at Fleming College with an average of C (2.0) or higher will be considered for admission to year three of the Bachelor of fine Art (Visual Art or General Fine Art majors) on the basis of their academic standing and a portfolio review. Students will be deficient three credits of first year English and should consider making up the first year English credits prior to admission to Emily Carr University.

 

BACHELOR OF FINE ART (Animation, Film, video  + Integrated Media and Photography Majors);   and

BACHELOR OF DESIGN (Communication Design and Industrial Design Majors)

 Graduates who have completed the Ontario College Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts at Fleming College with an average of C (2.0) or higher will normally be considered for admission to year two of the above-noted programs on the basis of their academic standing and a portfolio review. It should be noted that these programs have competitive entry and therefore the portfolio should reflect work that is consistent with the intended major.
