Program Highlights
This exciting 8-month program is designed to teach you the skills and abilities to design, create and maintain websites and web applications with a focus on the front-end – the aesthetics or “look and feel” of the website. Virtually all companies, whether large corporations, small businesses, government agencies or non-profit organizations, have or need a presence on the Internet. The ability to create websites, to ensure that they are easy to navigate - and that they can readily be found through search engines - is a critical asset to many businesses.
You will learn the fundamentals of consistent layout, client-side scripting, usability, markup and how to incorporate multimedia elements. In addition, you will have the flexibility to choose from several electives to hone your design skills, or choose elective courses with a programming focus.
Learn industry-standard development environments, tools, databases and languages. You will also develop an understanding of basic hardware, networking and operating systems, as well as the installation and configuration of web and e-mail servers.

Minimum Admission Requirements
OSSD with the majority of credits at the Workplace (E) level, including English. When Workplace (E) is the minimum course level for admission, (C) and (U/C) courses are also accepted.
Mature Students If you are 19 years of age or older before classes start, and you do not possess an OSSD, you can write the Canadian Adult Achievement Test to assess your eligibility for admission.

Introduction to HTML
Course Number: COMP403
The ability to create HTML documents from scratch and work within existing HTML documents is key to the Web development process and an asset to a Web development team. Students will learn how to use HTML and CSS to create a basic Web site. Through all levels of HTML and CSS learning, the student will learn about the various browser capabilities and reverse compatibility issues, and be required to cross browser test and troubleshoot their HTML and CSS code.Units: 45.00

Mathematics Fundamentals

The topics covered will include calculator skills and the fundamental operations of mathematics with whole numbers, fractions, ratio and proportion, and percent. E-Portfolio for Internet Projects

This portfolio project is intended to incorporate and demonstrate the student's skills and knowledge of Web Development in their final semester. Students will research examples of e-portfolios and establish their e-portfolio presence on the World Wide Web. They will research and establish their own domain name. Employing their skills in web design, students will complete the design and content of their e-portfolio web site.
