I decided to attend Fleming College for their Police Foundations program for many different reasons. Firstly, I was impressed with the fact that a majority of the teachers have been police officers and have real life experiences to share with their students. Secondly, when I spoke to some police officers about different schools, Fleming College was one of the most highly recommended. Lastly, I chose Fleming College because of its placement opportunities. The faculty work very hard to establish and maintain good relationships with police services to keep the placement programs going.
While at Fleming College I was involved in many activities. I worked for Fleming College through its intramural sports programs as well as volunteered at many of the school events.
I believe that my time at Fleming College has helped to provide me with some of the knowledge and experience necessary to take the next step in becoming a police officer. My fondest memories will be the field placement experience with the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service as well as time spent with many of the instructors outside of the academic experience. Overall, my time at Fleming College involved a lot of hard work, but it was a lot of fun too.
